Visit Locarno, the host of the international Film Festival - Pardo (in August)

Locarno, a Swiss city with about 16.000 inhabitants, close to Brissago (9km away) reachable by car, public bus or bicycle is a wonderful place to visit.

Parking: GPS: viale Verbano, in Muralto (Muralto is next to Locarno)
You can find parking near the lake, East side of Locarno Boat Terminal.
From there you walk 5-10 min to Piazza Grande or stroll to the lake shore / promenade.
Locarno hosts the well-known Film Festival in August, in renowned Piazza Grande.

Visit the old city center where they host the film festival, go to the port and stroll East on the lake promenade.
In Locarno go to the new LIDO for an amazing experience – great pools indoor and outdoor, various areas for younger and older kids. Nearby is a great SPA with salted water. All are newly built, having a great design.
Also worth a visit is Madonna del Sasso, Switzerland - the views from the hill are fantastic!
You can park at funicular/ Orselina CIT (gondola/cable car) on Via Santuario 4, 6644 Orselina and descent to Madonna del Sasso. Go inside the Santuario della Madonna del Sasso, then visit the church; a beautiful and old church from the 15 century with great decorations and amazing views. Descent on foot to Locarno.
In Locarno there is an international flower show: Camelie Locarno, end of March.

Cimetta Mountain access: You can take the cable car/gondola from Orselina CIT to Cardada (Cimetta) and enjoy great mountain views and great hikes.
You can do a tour right at the peak and you can descent on foot back to Locarno. Tickets info: http://www.cardada.ch/en
Market: Every Thursday (every 2 weeks in winter) in Piazza Grande - with various products.
